Like any seaside destination, it is easy enough to find a soft and snuggly Newport-emblazoned sweatshirt or ceramic sailboat salt and pepper shakers (pass me the salt, skipper!), but in between the banal is a wealth of privately-owned boutiques that shelve coveted fashion and accessories from around the world including familiar brands and one-of-a-kind pieces. There’s a reason why Newport’s own brand of style has been featured in Vogue and other top fashion magazines, but we’re more than just canvas totes, nautical stripes and boat shoes.
